However, even though having a spa or a heated pool is great, there are several things that you want to keep in mind once your pool or spa and heater are installed to keep your family safe.
- Most heaters have an internal safety system that helps prevent gas leakages or other mechanical failures. It is a good idea to take advantage of these features and test your system every year before starting it up. Just use your manual as a guide.
- You should also never just assume that since your heater worked fine at the end of last season that it’s ready to go this season. It’s recommended that you have a certified technician check your unit’s gas lines, wires and gauges to ensure that everything is working properly.
- It is EXTREMELY important to store chemicals away from the heater. Having the chemicals stored around the heater could lead to accidental combustion and/or a chemical fire.
